[edit] Draft and the controversial trades
In March of 2010, the Warrnmabool held their trade with the Tropics holding 4 of the top 10 draft picks, however due to being "unwell" David and Justin traded away picks #5 and #9 for Chris Grisenti and Liam Hunter respectively. Upon return to the homebase of Deakin Uni it was found out that fans were unhappy with the choice to trade away the picks, at least without knowledge of knowing who else was up for option. This controversy was however quickly excorcised from the team's fans once the first training session took place and the media dubbed Hunter as " the new Shaq". To finish off the team David and Justin picked up free agent Nathan Stockton on a three-year deal, which would see him also do promotion tours in southwest of Victoria.
